The Studio
A quiet space where Nordic wilderness meets artistic expression. Each illustration begins with observation, patience, and deep respect for the natural world.
About the Illustrator
My work comes from time spent in Nordic forests, observing wildlife movements and seasonal changes. Each illustration reflects quiet moments in these northern landscapes.
I draw inspiration from light filtering through pine branches, the texture of snow on fur, and the relationship between animals and their environment. These illustrations tell visual stories of connection and respect.
The process is methodical. I begin with field sketches, capturing gestures and expressions. In the studio, these sketches develop into compositions that consider both the subject and surrounding space.
Inspiration
Nordic Forests
The forests of Scandinavia provide inspiration. The interplay of light and shadow, the texture of bark and moss, the way animals move through these spaces—all of this informs my work.
Wildlife
Each animal I illustrate represents observation time. I study their behavior, their relationship with the environment, and the characteristics that define these northern lands.
Seasons
Seasonal changes in Nordic regions create a shifting canvas. Winter conditions, spring renewal, summer growth, and autumn transformation—each season tells a different story.
Tools & Techniques
Traditional Drawing
I begin with pencil sketches on paper. These initial drawings capture the subject's form, movement, and character.
Digital Refinement
The sketches are refined digitally, allowing control over line weight, texture, and composition. This approach combines traditional art feel with digital precision.
Color Palette
Color choices reflect the natural palette of Nordic landscapes—cool blues, forest greens, earthy browns, and whites of snow and mist.
Composition
White space is important alongside the subject. Each composition is balanced to create space and draw attention to essential elements.
Ethical Printing
Each print is produced with consideration for quality and environmental responsibility. We use archival paper from sustainable sources and eco-friendly inks that maintain color over time.
Packaging is minimal and recyclable. Each order includes a handwritten note and is shipped in protective, reusable materials.
